I really liked the idea behind a similar project, werc, however I wanted to use my own version for the reason that I'd know how it worked as well as the experience of learning it.
It took me a while and a fair amount of revisions as well as the creation of xbs as a build system before I could use it to power my website but since November 2021, ewfm has been powering colean.cc as well as some other sites.
